Lucy Warren has performed throughout Australia, Asia and Europe in demand as an accomplished freelance violinist. In 2018, Lucy joined Orchestra Victoria as a full-time Tutti Musician. Prior to this, Lucy performed as a Contract Musician with the Opera Australia Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony where she was an Orchestral Fellow in 2012 and with whom she has toured internationally. She has also performed with the Tasmanian Symphony, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Sydney Chamber Opera and as Guest Principal with the Darwin Symphony.
In 2016, Lucy collaborated with the Sydney Dance Company where she led the project Cactii as part of their Countermove season and tour. Lucy has been fortunate to study with some wonderful teachers including Michele Walsh, William Hennessy, Paul Wright and Semyon Kobets. She studied at the Queensland Conservatorium and was also the grateful beneficiary of scholarships to University of Tasmania and the Australian National Academy of Music.
Lucy is a committed and passionate chamber musician and in 2012 she joined the award-winning Strelitzia Ensemble who have commissioned the music of many great Australian composers as well as championing the masterpieces and gems of the piano trio repertoire. Since 2013, Lucy has been the Concertmaster of the Opera Australia National Tour and greatly enjoys travelling to and engaging with the regional and remote communities of this vast and amazing country.
